What we do
Catalyst builds bridges between artistic expression and scientific research. We create networks for creators and researchers, we develop tools for expression and collaboration and we create art inspired by scientific discovery.
We are a multidisciplinary team tethered by imagination and driven by curiosity.
Phil believes in immersive, sensory experiences. Though he is trained as a theatre director, performer, and technician, he sure thinks a lot about the future of society, galactic travel and what Issac Asimov and Shakespeare would talk about.
Bria Woodyard – Network Coordinator and Sustainability Officer
A sustainability and environmental scientist, Bria harbors an unwavering curiosity about the boundaries between the arts & sciences. With a passion for both, she’s committed to skewing the margins, blurring the line, and bringing to two together.
Kyra Jackson – Marketing and Outreach Coordinator
In her performance work, Kyra often spends lots of her time overthinking the psychology of characters and people. She is fascinated with the “why” and “how” of everything around her and strives to learn as many languages as possible to deepen her understanding of the world.
Formally trained as a theatre designer, Ian now focuses much of his creative energy towards crafting new experiences and developing mediated environments for performance. He has a passion for programming, design, and coffee.
Micky Small splits her time between left and right brain activities. She is a performer, producer, business manager and loves coffee almost as much as chocolate. She loves creating connections between people.
Catalyst is made possible in part through seed funding from the Pave Arts Venture Incubator at ASU.
