I've been thinking a lot lately about how Catalyst has grown. It comes back to one thing every single time: relationships. Not networking-for-the-sake-of-it or cold outreach. It always starts with genuine connection with people who care about the same things we do.

Every client we have came through trust built over time. A conversation at an event, a follow-up that wasn't pushy, or a referral from someone who knew we'd be a good fit.

I'm a big believer that the "sales cycle" is really just a relationship cycle, and when you approach it that way, everything changes.

Yesterday was one of those mornings that just fill you up.

I had the privilege of attending the Soles4Souls Re: Purpose Breakfast (thank you to my good friend and board member Megan McGuire for the invite!). I walked away with a full heart and so many takeaways. The conversation between Buddy Teaster, Hal Cato, and Michael Burcham held so many important moments and thoughts and left me feeling so inspired.

What struck me most about the whole morning was this idea that presence and proximity go hand in glove. That you can’t truly serve what you don’t understand, and you can’t understand it if you’re not willing to get close to it. For an organization that has spent 20 years turning something as simple as a shoe into dignity for someone who needed it, that philosophy shows up in everything they do.

I left reminded that nonprofits don’t just need a great cause — they need to show up for it, consistently and visibly, in ways that build real trust with the people they serve.

I’m incredibly grateful for mornings that send you back to your own work with a little more fire.
